Len Barry

Len Barry was born in Pennsylvania and grew up a bit in Texas, Long Island, New York and New Jersey before settling in Northern Kentucky for most of his pre-college education. At St. Henry High School in Erlanger Kentucky, Len volunteered in student government and was a varsity basketball player. Len has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Communications from Central Methodist University and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Florida Atlantic University.

His work experience includes summer camp counseling, music retail, arts education and theater carpentry. Len did various behind the scenes and educational work in the Palm Beach School district, at regional theaters in South Florida, and Broward Center for Performing Arts before moving to Jamestown with his young family. He worked as the theater teacher at Mercyhurst Preparatory School in Erie, PA in 2005 and 2006. For 7 years Len was Program Coordinator at Arts Council For Chautauqua County, overseeing arts in education programs, public art initiatives and the 3rd On 3rd Gallery. In 2011, he was named a 40 Under 40 Community And Business Leader for the Chautauqua Region by The Post-Journal.  He is a founding member of The Unexpected Guests improvisational comedy troupe and was a managing member of Jamestown's Bunbury Theater Company. In his spare time, Len is the creator and host of Discarded, Recycled and New - an alternative country radio program on WRFA-LP 107.9 FM. Len is also active as a commissioner in the Boy Scouts of America Allegheny Highlands District in Western New York. He lives on the west side of the city with his wife - Jamestown native Alison (Peters), children Kate and Pete and dog, Asa.
