EBC's 100th anniversary proudly present a Gospel Explosion, featuring The Sellar Award winning The Walls Group and God's Purchase.

The Walls Group (pictured) is made up of four out of eight siblings that have grown up singing the Good News of Jesus from as far back they can remember. Darrel, with his dynamic riffs and runs and those magic fingers, Rhea, with her sweet voice of velvet, Paco, with his raspy, soultry sound, and Ahjah with her powerful, jazzy style and beautiful smile, all come together to make the unique sound that so many have come to know and love. Coming from a musical family, where both their mother and father are musicians and singers, this 5th generation of singers bring a newer and exciting younger face to Gospel music. The Walls Group hopes to spread the message of Hope and Love through Jesus Christ and to Bless the hearts of God's People everywhere.

God's Purchase: It all started the first day of school in the fall of 2008 at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts in Buffalo, New York.  That was the year George Brown (founder and director) stepped into the classroom as a substitute teacher after his brother, Darren, was named principal of the school. These talented group of students were the start of something very special and the group continued to grow in number and popularity. The group has performed at churches all across Western New York, at special engagements for Senator Antoine Thompson, Mayor Byron Brown, and County Legislator Betty Jean Grant.  They performed at the famous “Keeping the Dream Alive” assembly at “Babeville” at Asbury Hall for City Honors School and continue to be summoned for engagements across the area. The group is always reminded that they are ‘not just a form of entertainment; but a form of ministry!‘   “That is the most important lesson I can teach any of these young people,” says founder and director George Brown.  “They need to remember that they are ALL MINISTERS OF MUSIC and many times the only Christ someone may see!”

This event is made possible by the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and the Fund for Downtown Programming. The Fund for Downtown Programing (FDP) is one of ten projects funded by the DRI and was awarded $600,000 by New York State to be administered through Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), the state’s Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC) and facilitated by the Jamestown Local Development Corporation. The FDP supports programming that attracts a range of audiences to Jamestown’s downtown and Riverwalk throughout the year and encourages an influx of patrons to downtown businesses, maximizing economic impact of the event. These financial resources are expected to supplement and increase efforts currently undertaken by individual cultural attractions and local foundations.
